No more candy. It’s time to shop
Halloween? We’ve given it its 15 minutes and we’ve moved on. Take a ride with us as we look for online style diversions that have nothing to do with witches, ghosts or sugar highs: We adore Denimology, a UK blog all jazzed about finding the perfect pair of jeans The Well Heeled Society offers this mission statement: “Sometimes life’s destiny does not include you being swept off your feet. Sometimes it’s just standing in the light of your completeness . . . wearing fabulous shoes.” Indeed, we say, especially when it’s a silver Jessica Bennett strappy sandal ($118) or a shiny red Vince Camuto Mary Jane on sale ($99, was $122, right).
Cheryl Shops, and we go with her, hating and loving her all the way. Cheryl lives in New York, and gets to shop sample sales on her lunch hour, so we hate her. But she also gives us insider fashion peeks at what’s in the shops, so we love her. This week she’s all about the color purple in coats, from this cute Urban Outfitters number ($108) to Ralph Lauren’s amazing Mallory wrap coat ($4,998, above left). Hey, we can dream, can’t we? Shelterrific is what you get when a bunch of people with slightly weird but excellent taste put together a web site mostly about slightly weird but excellent items. Does Beyonce and Jay-Z’s $70,000 table (above right) fit your style? Then you’re in the right place.
Product Girl: Here’s what we want from a beauty blog: Cool products. A voice of reason, who tells us what’s worth the money and what isn’t. And fun product reviews, written with glee over incredible finds. In short, we want Product Girl, who experiments with products at the duty-free shop, swoons over pink products and shares her 5-minute-false-eyelash secrets.
And seeing as how we’ve given you all those great ideas, try to stay away from Coquette, could you please? Blogger Natalie Zee Drieu picks out nothing but adorable stuff, and if you start, you might not stop. We are totally enchanted with these Alphabet Bags with their big, bold typography ($16.50, right), and we might need them all for ourselves. |
