Please, don’t start Christmas yet

We’re in this very brief lull, somewhere between thank-heaven-Halloween-is-over and OMG-I’m-not-ready-for-Christmas. It seems the perfect time for a little escapism, a little skipping around the Web, poking into some of our favorite blogs of the week.

We love inside information, and we love California Style, a combination of celebrity peeks, sample sales and hints on where to get something cute for Saturday night. This week the blog teases us with the Restoration Hardware Friends & Family Holiday event, and tells us that Alicia Keys carried a Zufi Alexander Spring 2009 Y Clutch in fuschia eel (left) to the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo (Here’s a somewhat similar Zufi, albeit in a calmer shade, for $1,300).

Style It’s mantra is “Where the fashion nerd meets the pop culture obsessed,” and it’s as fun to poke around in as a sale bin at the Clinique counter. Here she tries out Smashbox’s Master Class Vol 2. Special Effects Set ($59, above right), over there she’s raving

about Fauve by Fantasie lingerie’s Spring 2009 collection, and before you know it you’re wanting to order the portable fragrances she’s so crazy for ($12-$35).

Trendir gets it. They get that a faucet inspired by the classic game Tetris is cool, especially when the handle works like a joystick (above). And they get that a wood stove can look like anything but a wood stove, like the Gaya and Oracle from Invicta France (above). No price given, and we all know what that means. But we’re imagining the winter-night warmth nonetheless.

Be still our hearts. We are a total paper nut, and so when we stumbled across Parsiri - a site all about art, design, stationery, paper and more - we couldn’t bookmark it fast enough. It’s almost as satisfying as being in a store in person.  We want to buy Jennifer Squires’ photography, we want to buy cards from New Jersey printshop 9SpotMonk (left) and we want to buy Natsumi Nishizumi’s ink and watercolor drawings. Now if we could just touch things.

MomFinds is where you’re going to find sexy jeans that are comfortable (DL 1961’s Kate or Roxy, $158), the perfect stroller accessory (Sunny Stroll baby toy, $16) and “Deals of the Day” that are totally relevant to any home with tots. We don’t know where this blogger finds the time, but the Mom world is totally better off due to her effort.

And A Girl’s Gotta Spa! is a beauty and bath products site that revels in all the things we need to spoil ourselves, like Bramble Berry’s DIY bath and body kits (right), Jimmyjane massage candles ($65) or the deliciously reviewed cranberry fig sugar scrub from Bella Lucce ($25.50). Enjoy.
