10 cute pairs of PJs perfect for spring breezes, summer linens
Enough with the winter sleepwear, already. Enough with the flannel and coziness, the sweat pants and T-shirts. Today our mission is to get you shopping for cute, flirty PJs that are worthy of spring’s warmer nights and summer’s crisp linens. These are not cocooning PJ’s. These are warm-breeze, bare-feet, breakfast-on-the-patio PJ’s. And you need them now. Here’s a perfect example. The racerback pajama at Victoria’s Secret is made from soft cotton that is ruched in the back, with matching Capri-length pants. There are five cute prints; we sort of favor the spring green with raspberries, but the white and pink floral would look great sitting in the sun ($29, above). Bedhead’s Ming voile cami Capri comes in that color of coral that seems to make everyone’s skin tone look gorgeous. And the lines of this PJ set — a drawstring waist, a slightly peplum-ish top — will flatter the figure as well. The fabric is inspired by the Ming Dynasty patterns, but the look is all contemporary ($133, above left). The Alfani Journey to Belize chemise knows what its job description is: to give you island dreams at night and be sure you look cute over coffee in the morning. It succeeds on both counts. At Macy’s ($19, was $25, above right).
The Style Insider does not have the skin tone to wear this delicate pale pink Undrest Amelie flutter sleeve chemise, and if you do, we’re envious. Its dropped waist, tulip sleeves and sweet skating-skirt hem give it an undeniable girly flair. At Bluefly ($54, was $90, above). These are just plain cute. The Tiki short set at PajamaGram is all pink and aqua cotton, with palm trees, tiki huts and tropical flowers blooming all over the shorts. If you aren’t careful, you’ll be ordering hibiscus tea. At PajamaGram ($36, above left). Maybe you’re not ready to let go of all your winter comfort just yet. Juicy Couture hears your plea, and answers with their blush-colored cashmere blend short set, with its spaghetti straps, empire waist and ruffles around the neck. Did we mention it’s cashmere? OK. Wanted to be sure. At Net-a-Porter ($260, above right). We adore the Scanty Love sweetheart chemise. It looks like something our college-age niece would live in, possibly throwing on leggings when she and her pals run out for a midnight snack. The colors are bright, the flowers are incessant, and the message is clear. At Bluefly ($33, was $62, above left). OK: It’s all innocence and white, eyelet lace and bows, perched halfway between sweet-young-thing and goddess. All you need is a touch of a tan to make the boy in your life just a bit dizzy with possibility. Boyshort pajama at Victoria’s Secret ($26, above right).
These PJs are cool enough to exercise in, but if you have a significant other, we frankly doubt they’ll ever get And if you just must have long pants, here’s a cute way to go. The Smart Chick TJs are printed with colorful little chicks — each wearing her own pair of smart-girl glasses. At PajamaGram ($50, left). Advertisement |
